Life-Size Clay Sculpture of two of the Forefathers of Canadian Confederation
Open Studio Tour on June 7 and 8 at 6375 West Saanich Rd, Victoria BC. Victoria, BC, June 2, 2014 - Canadian figurative sculptor Nathan Scott, has completed a life size clay sculpture of his latest public commission to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the Charlottetown Conference leading to Canadian Confederation. The sculpture is comprised of John Hamilton Gray of Prince Edward Island conversing with John Hamilton Gray of New Brunswick. “I have always enjoyed bringing historical figures back in to their communities.” Nathan Scott continues, “Wherever we live, we have a rich history that can be so easily forgotten, so to bring it back to the forefront gives people something to be proud of and gives the city foundation.” An Open Studio Tour will be held June 7 and 8 for the general public. At the conclusion, the sculpture will be molded and then cast in bronze. The sculpture will then be unveiled in the beginning of September 2014 in the historical old town of Charlottetown.
